It seems there are many things that need to happen to get us ready for an industry in our new megasite. While the general public can't do anything to help the infrastructure issues that will have to be dealt with, we can help in other areas.
First and foremost we must present a positive attitude about ourselves, our community and our future. Second we must help create a more educated workforce so that when an industry is ready to come here, our residents will have a chance at the new jobs that will be created.
Enter the STEP program. Simply put, with the help of local mentors, students will be better prepared to enter college and receive the level of education they will need to compete for the high tech jobs of the future.
